ADDITIONAL RULES FOR ROUGHGROUNDS LAKE

  1. The entrance gate and roadside gate (peg 26) to Roughgrounds is to remain closed at all times, the combi lock code is in the handbook and on membership card.The last member to leave is to lock the gates. The gate at peg 38 is to remain permanently locked. The private house opposite the gate is to be respected at all times. the occupiers do not know the code.
  2. Vehicles are to be parked facing the hedge and not sideways on. The grass overspill area down to peg 15 is not to be used when the ground is wet.
  3. Members are to ensure they are conversant with the notices specific to Roughgrounds prior to commencing fishing. the MAIN NOTICE BOARD is located centrally in the car park. Notices of matches, grass cutting, work parties, keepnet bans, rod rules, lake closure due to spawning, or flooding etc. will be displayed as required at the main entrance.
  4. One rod only to be used from 1st April to 31st October.
    Two rods can be used (providing the angler is proficient) from 1st November to 31st March. if 2 rods are used they must be held in appropriate rod rests. Rods are not to be left and the angler is to remain within 3 meters at all times. unattended
  5. All species: – Appropriate size unhooking mats/cradles to be placed behind the angler and not on the platforms. Landing nets to be 18 inch minimum must be used at all times. Unhooking from lap, providing angler is proficient, is acceptable.
  6. All fish to be returned to the water in a responsible and safe manner without causing any stress or harm.
  7. The following is to be observed if keepnets are permitted. The use of keepnets will be decided by tghe committee and reviewed on a regular basis.
  8. The following is to be observed if keep nets are permitted. Silver fish only (bream, Tench etc.) can be placed in a keep net for a maximum of 5 hours, do not overcrowd your keep net, and use 2 nets if required. To eliminate disease Anglers are to ensure that their nets have been thoroughly dried prior to fishing.
  9. All Carp to be released after capture, unless under 5lbs during club matches.
  10. Maximum size of BARBLESS hook for all species, to be size 8.
  11. Hook lengths of lesser breaking strain than main line to be used.
  12. No fixed or semi fixed rigs of any kind, straight leads and all feeders to be free running. Lures are only to be used during the pike season.
  13. Fly fishing is not permitted.
  14. The following are not to be used…..Electronic bite alarms/Floating baits inc bread/Braid – main line and hook lengths/Cat or dog meat/Boilies/ Nuts.
  15. BOILIES hooked or for loose feeding is not allowed
  16. Wafters or pop ups up to 10mm in diameter can be used as hookbaits only.
  17. Anglers are only permitted to fish to half way to the next peg (This includes the opposite bank)
  18. Dogs to be kept on a lead and under control.Poo bags to be used and taken home.
  19. BRAID NOT TO BE USED OTHER THAN FOR PREDATOR (PIKE) FISHING.
  20. Road bank pathway pegs 26 to 38, to be kept clear at all times.Pole rollers are accepted.
  21. PIKE FISHING SEASON WILL BE OCTOBER 1st TO  MARCH 31st
  22. Pike fishing barbless hooks maximum size 6
  23. 50lb Braid and Wire traces to be used for pike fishing.
  24. Bite indication for Pike fishing- Bobbin, monkey climber or float to be used

On no account must live or dead freshwater fish be brought to use on Roughgrounds Lake for pike fishing. Only NON freshwater species of fish may be used

FAILURE TO COMPLY TO HAC RULES WILL RESULT IN SUSPENSION OF MEMBERSHIP
