Landing Net Usage

Highworth angling club is a mixed fishery catering for all forms of fishing. A such we have a good head of skimmers, bream, roach, tench and a large number of carp, that have over the recent years grown to a good average size ranging from 10lb to well over 20lb.

Consequently, when fishing for carp due to their size we recommend that an appropriately sized landing of at least 22inches is used, so that fish are safe and secure when landed.

If you are fishing for the other species of fish in the lake rather than carp, then of course it is highly likely you will encounter hooking carp. So, we encourage you to have two landing nets setup. One for the smaller landing that that can comfortably and safely land the the smaller fish and a second large landing net 22 inches to accommodate large carp, should you catch one.
