Keepnet Usage

The committee have decided to lift the current keepnet ban at RoughGrounds, so as of Wednesday 19th August keepnets can be used at the lake for silvers only.

NO CARP OF ANY SIZE ARE TO BE PUT IN KEEPNETS.

As we consider fish welfare seriously important we have put a few guides together regarding the usage of keepnets.

  1. Please make sure your keepnet is long enough. We suggest 3m as a minium
  2. When placing the keepnet in the water please try and make sure it is fully submerged and stretched out in the water.
  3. If you are catching a lot of big bream and tench try and use two keepnets to reduce over crowding.
  4. Try not to keep fish in the keepnets for longer than 5 hrs.
  5. If you land a fish by the landing net then place it in the keepnet with the landing net. Try not to drop fish from a high into the keepnet.
